LECOM Bradenton's

2nd Annual Mini-Medical School

Now you can attend medical school without applying, paying tuition or taking exams.  During LECOM Bradenton's Mini-Medical school you'll sit in the seat of a medical student and learn from the experts on health.  Plus, you can take advantage of free health screenings each day.

9:00 AM     "Vaccines: What do they mean?"
                 Clarence Colle, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Microbiology and

  Vaccinations are taken for granted in  our society.  But do we
                      really understand what  they are? 
In  this lecture you'll learn how
                      vaccines work, what are the pros and cons of being vaccinated,
                      and what diseases to vaccines work against? 

10:00 AM   "Complementary & Alternative Medicine: What is it?"                
                  James Leiber, D.O., Assistant Clinical Professor of Family
                  Medicine and Osteopathic Principles & Practice, LECOM

 Learn about therapies that don't fall under conventional medical
                      practices.  Dr. Leiber will explain what constitutes safe
                     complementary or alternative therapies and when to seek them as
                     treatments.

11:00 AM    "Where to Find Reliable Medical Information"
                  Jeffrey Orenstein, Ph.D., Living Health with Living Out East
                  Magazine
                     
In this second of three mini-sessions, Dr. Orenstein will continue
                     to guide you through the world of medical advice and direct you to
                    the most reliable, trustworthy information.

When you arrive on campus, please follow the signs to the parking lot on the west side of the building.  The entrance to Mini-Medical School is on the west side (back) of the building.  Registration will be just inside the door.
