Team LECOM Basketball Players Present the Inaugural Trophy for LECOM
Bradenton Inaugural Class

The inaugural trophy of the inaugural class was
presented to Dr. Robert George, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs
on March 8. One of five teams in the GT Bray Basketball League in
Bradenton, Florida, Team LECOM consisted of nine LECOM Bradenton
students and after 10 season games and after one “hotly contested,
hard-fought game” playoff game, they won the school’s first trophy.
Team members, from left to right, are Joseph Hauter, Michael
Cosgrove, Saad Hussain, Dzi-Viet Nguyen, Swarup Misra, Najam
Fasiuddin and Daniel Heard. (Not shown are Justin Van Meeteren and
Keith Knigge)
According to Dzi-Viet Nguyen they found a
balance between medical school’s first semester finals and playing
in a league. “We started out slow because of a lack of chemistry,
but as we kept playing each of us fell into our roles and we
finished on a 4-games winning streak going into the playoffs. We
left this league with countless memories and stories to tell.”
Congratulations Team LECOM!
