Students Travel to Kenya
Over their winter break 12 students traveled to Kenya to
experience a different culture, observe
medical facilities and practices, and help a needy population.
As the group visited different parts of the country, they shared
osteopathic principles with the natives. Victor Awour, '08 arranged
the trip. Thanks to the generosity of the LECOM community, the
students collected over 600 pounds of shoes and clothing, 40 pairs
of eyeglasses, and essential vitamins. They transported these
items thousands of miles and then distributed them to more than 300
people of Ngeta Village on Christmas Day.
