Strong Vincent High School
The LECOM students participated
in small group educational sessions at Strong
Vincent
High School. The workshops that LECOM students presented on were:
Skin Cancer, Alcohol/Drug and Nutrition, Fitness and Fad Diets, all
40 minute presentations. The young teenagers were amazed at how easily
skin cancer could develop. Also speaking on cancers were students
Erika Cunningham, Laura Lehrian and Kylie Pajak. Tim Cheslock, John
Amsbury, Michael Byrne and Asfa Shad all spoke on Alcohol/Drug
Effects on the Nervous System. Rebecca Locke, Tracy Gulling and
Michelle Scharnott talked to the group about Nutrition. They used
examples of famous stars like Jessica Simpson, who young teenagers
strive to look like, but should think first of nutrition and
exercise. They also shared with them the importance of being
healthy.
