LECOM Commemorates World AIDS day
The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine commemorated World
AIDS Day by creating a human Red Ribbon. Nearly, 90 students,
faculty and staff wore red shirts to create a human red ribbon
reflecting their support for the effort to eradicate AIDS. The
students also distributed small red ribbons in exchange for
donations to the food bank.
Other activities to commemorate World AIDS Day included The Tree
of Remembrance and Hope. Red ribbons were placed on the tree to
represent a memory or hope for the future. Another panel was also
created for the LECOM AIDS Memorial Quilt with the help of Helen
McKenzie, Administrative Assistant to the President.
