Pharmacy Day at the Capitol
Pharmacy Day was April 5 and was a success in terms of the schools
screenings, student participation, and interest garnered by
legislators who stopped by the displays and participated in the
screenings. Class of 2007 members, Tom Falk, Jason Fox, Jessica
Nelson, Kristin Norkus, Adam Perkins, Kelly Perkins, and Krista
Petrolla attended Pharmacy Day with Kim Burns, R.Ph., J.D. Overall,
about 80 students attended the event from schools around the state.
Each school presented a health issues such as hypertension and blood
pressure screenings, immunization information, medication reviews,
diabetes management, bone density, facial skin analysis, and body
fat analysis. LECOM provided the blood pressure screenings and
information on hypertension. The schools were also encouraged to
visit representatives from their area. LECOM students saw
Representative Curt Sonney and Senator Jane Earll to address
pharmacy issues.
